Acrylic on canvas, mixed media, (175cm x 155cm (69” x 61”)).
In Johannes Vermeer’s “The Geographer” (1669), a pensive young man pauses, compass in hand, over an unrolled map, his gaze drawn in thought to the view through his window. It is to this window, re-lit in the four colors of the Microsoft logo, that Vito Di Bari draws his own viewer’s eye. From here, the eye looks across to the bespectacled figure of the young Bill Gates, one hand holding a pen, the other resting on a computer mouse. A left-hander, Gates puts his mark on the image, requiring Di Bari to flip the composition so that Gates can recreate the geographer’s pose. Caught in a moment of creative inspiration, Gates appears like an artist. Vermeer sought to paint ‘as a window on the world’ and it is the defining impact of Gates’ Windows software, through which so many receive and represent the world, that this artwork invites us to contemplate.

Description of the Collection
Originals
The originals are unique works.
Made with mixed techniques ranging from acrylic to relief, they are intended for gallery exhibitions, display in contemporary art museums, and for art collectors. From time to time, some works are offered for sale online for short periods of time and are exclusively available to the most loyal online collectors. The originals offered online follow the site's discount policy and are therefore unique opportunities, reserved only for a small group of admirers of the Art of Extraordinary Stories. In order to take part in this opportunity, it is necessary to demonstrate that you have previously purchased at least six prints on canvas. The value of unique works increases exponentially and it is possible to put them back on sale on our website after a minimum period of two years. Outside the site, the resale is at the discretion of the collector.

The value of his large-scale art in public spaces has had an impressive growth trend, increasing tenfold within fifteen years. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Vito started working on collections of paintings made with mixed techniques and inspired by great masterpieces of the past. Vito is a storyteller, and each of his paintings tells a story, involving different esthetic and metaphorical meanings to be discovered and appreciated over time. Each painting has an acrylic original and a limited edition of 100 prints on museum grade canvas signed and dated by the artist, all with a certificate of authenticity.
