Hall of Fame revels in the mighty influence of athletes who have climbed to the highest honors. Painted as if self-aware of their own fame, wealth, and power, these athletes are matched with a traditional painting that exemplifies the essence of their prestige. Each original painting has a main element of portraiture that is utilized to replace the poser with the selected sport star, melding their representation into a background almost indistinguishable from the classic. Slight variations in the backgrounds are changed, replacing elements which signify key symbology in the original with items that create new meaning in relation to the replaced subject. Though the replacement of these elements create new meaning, interestingly, the original meaning adds another layer of depth to the interpretation of the works. The replacement itself contains context clues and connected symbolism.
